Are Pinball Mods Worth It?

Yes. Absolutely.

If you've just bought a pinball machine, you might wonder whether pinball mods are actually worth the money — or whether you should simply leave the machine exactly as it came from the factory.

For us, the answer is simple: the right mods can completely change how a machine looks and feels.

And some upgrades make a much bigger difference than others.

The Biggest Visual Change: WizPanels

If we had to recommend one place to start, it would be WizPanels.

Modern pinball machines often have a huge black speaker panel sitting directly above the playfield. It works perfectly well technically, but visually, it can be one of the emptiest and least interesting areas of the cabinet.

WizPanels fill that space with artwork that continues the design of the machine.

WizBlades have a different effect.

The inside walls of a pinball cabinet are normally large areas of almost completely empty space. When you're playing, you're constantly looking through those walls towards the playfield.

Add artwork there and suddenly the cabinet feels deeper.

The playfield seems larger, the artwork continues around the ball and the entire machine feels more immersive.

It isn't simply adding decoration to the sides. It changes the visual depth of the whole game.

That's why side blades are one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make.

Don't Forget the Front

Then there's the coin door.

It's a large, completely separate black area sitting right in the middle of the front of the machine.

WizDoors solve exactly that problem.

Adding artwork to the coin door connects another major section of the cabinet with the rest of the machine. Once you see a themed coin door alongside matching cabinet artwork, the original plain version can suddenly look strangely unfinished.

And Then There Are the Small Details

Not every mod needs to transform the entire machine.
