Pokémon Pinball Art: A Machine Designed Around Colour

Not every pinball machine tells its story through mechanical toys.

Some do it through artwork.

Pokémon Pinball is one of those rare machines where the cabinet, backbox and playfield work together to create a complete visual experience. Every edition has its own personality, yet all three immediately feel unmistakably Pokémon. Rather than relying on realism, the artwork embraces vibrant colours, bold illustrations and familiar characters that make the machine instantly recognisable from across the room.

Three Editions, Three Different Artistic Styles

Although the gameplay remains the same, each version has its own artistic identity.

The Pro Edition uses rich reds and warm sunset colours that create an adventurous atmosphere. The artwork feels dramatic, with strong contrast that immediately draws your attention towards Pikachu and the surrounding Pokémon.

The Premium Edition keeps many of those warm colours but opens the landscape with a brighter sky and softer, more rounded scenery. It feels lighter, more natural and gives the entire cabinet greater depth.

The Limited Edition takes things even further. Gold and yellow tones dominate the artwork, while the cabinet is packed with Pokémon, creating a richer, more detailed composition that feels like a celebration of the entire Pokémon universe. It's immediately obvious that this version was created with collectors in mind.

Artwork Should Never Stop at the Edge of the Playfield

One of the biggest challenges in every pinball machine is continuity.

The artwork begins on the translite, continues across the speaker panel, flows into the cabinet and eventually reaches the coin door. If any of those areas feel disconnected, the illusion disappears.

That's exactly why we designed our WizPanels for the Pro, Premium and LE.

Instead of leaving the speaker panel as a large empty space, they continue the original artwork naturally between the backbox and the cabinet, making the entire front of the machine feel like one complete illustration rather than separate pieces.

It's a subtle change, but once you've seen it, it's difficult to imagine the machine without it.

Expression Lighting Deserves to Be Seen

Jersey Jack's Expression Lighting deserves to remain one of the stars of the machine.

That's why our EL Cut WizBlades were designed specifically to work alongside it.

Rather than covering the lighting, the precision cut follows the illuminated panels, allowing the colours to shine while extending the artwork deeper into the cabinet. The result feels more immersive without sacrificing one of the machine's most impressive factory features.

Owners who prefer a completely enclosed cabinet can instead choose our Full Cut WizBlades, creating one uninterrupted wall of Pokémon artwork from front to back.

Both options stay true to the original artistic vision while offering two completely different visual styles.

The Smallest Areas Matter Too

Great artwork isn't only about the largest surfaces.

It's also about the details.

Our Premium WizDoors continue the artwork across one of the most interrupted areas of any pinball machine: the coin door. Instead of becoming a visual break, the lower cabinet continues to feel connected.

The same philosophy inspired our LE WizEmblems.

Located around the start button area, they extend the artwork into one of the places players interact with most. Even though they're small, they help create the feeling that every visible part of the machine belongs to the same artistic composition.
