Multimorphic Officially Announces Dungeon Crawler Carl and Ender's Game for the P3 Platform

Today was a big day for fans of modular pinball.

Multimorphic has officially revealed not one, but two brand-new games for the P3 Platform: Dungeon Crawler Carl and Ender's Game. Rather than creating two completely different playfields, both games share the same physical layout while delivering entirely different themes, artwork, rules, assets and gameplay experiences.

It's an approach that's unique to the P3 ecosystem and one of the biggest reasons the platform continues to stand apart from traditional pinball manufacturers.

One Playfield, Two Completely Different Adventures

At first glance, the two games may look similar because they share the same physical module.

In reality, they're designed to feel like two completely different experiences.

Each game features its own artwork, animations, music, callouts, rules and progression, allowing owners to swap themes without replacing the entire machine. This modular philosophy has been at the heart of the P3 platform since its introduction and continues with these latest releases.

Dungeon Crawler Carl

Dungeon Crawler Carl is based on Matt Dinniman's hugely successful LitRPG series, which has sold more than 10 million books and is continuing to grow with future novels, graphic novels, tabletop games and an upcoming TV adaptation. Rather than simply borrowing the licence, Multimorphic has built the game's progression around the story itself, with the first six books becoming selectable game modes and the seventh book forming the wizard mode. The playfield is packed with characters fans will instantly recognise, including Carl, Princess Donut, Mongo and Samantha, while the artwork combines cabinet illustrations by Luciano Fleitas—best known for the Dungeon Crawler Carl book covers—with playfield art from Brad Albright. Gameplay introduces several major new mechanisms, including a large rotating illuminated disk with a player-controlled cannon, curved target bank and ball guides, new inlane ball locks, and a redesigned lower playfield that brings much more of the action closer to the flippers. Multimorphic also confirmed that acclaimed audiobook narrator Jeff Hays recorded a large package of custom callouts specifically for the game, giving longtime fans an authentic Dungeon Crawler Carl experience.

Ender's Game

Alongside Dungeon Crawler Carl, Multimorphic also revealed Ender's Game, based on Orson Scott Card's classic science-fiction novel. Although it shares exactly the same physical playfield and mechanisms, it has been developed as a completely different game, with its own artwork, rules, music, callouts and gameplay philosophy. Rather than focusing on character sculpts, Ender's Game relies on artwork and display animations to tell the story, placing much greater emphasis on Ender's psychological journey. One of the most original features is the Balance Mechanism, where two visible ball stackers represent Ender's compassionate sister Valentine and his aggressive brother Peter. Throughout the game, players are encouraged to shift balls between the two sides, balancing compassion and aggression to optimise battles and progression. The development team also chose to base the game entirely on the original novel rather than the 2013 film, creating all artwork, animations, voices and audio from scratch to remain faithful to the source material. The result is a machine that shares its hardware with Dungeon Crawler Carl while delivering a completely different atmosphere and style of gameplay.

Why the P3 Platform Is Different

Unlike traditional pinball machines, the P3 Platform allows owners to change games by replacing the playfield module and software while keeping the same cabinet.

That means one machine can become something completely different without needing to buy another full pinball machine.

It's a concept that continues to evolve, and today's announcement is another great example of how flexible the platform has become.

Wizard Mod Plans

With both games now officially announced, we're already looking at ways to complement their artwork.

Our first products for these releases will be premium WizDoors, designed to extend each machine's artwork onto the coin door while matching the factory design as closely as possible.

We're taking a little extra time before launching them so we can study the final production artwork and make sure the finished products meet the standard Wizard Mod owners expect.
