Best Iron Man Pinball Mods

There are fast pinball machines, and then there is Iron Man.

Released by Stern in 2010 and designed by John Borg, Iron Man is one of those machines that wastes very little time before reminding you that it means business. The shots are fast, the rebounds can be brutal and the game has a reputation for punishing even experienced players.

It is also a machine with a surprisingly clean visual design, which makes it a great candidate for custom artwork.

Here are some of our favourite Iron Man Pinball Mods.

Iron Man WizBlades

The biggest visual upgrade has to be the WizBlades.

For Iron Man, we've created a completely original graphic from scratch, designed specifically around the machine and its theme. Rather than simply reproducing the existing cabinet artwork, the design gives the inside of the cabinet a much stronger visual presence.

And that is particularly effective on Iron Man because you spend so much time looking down into the playfield.

The Iron Man WizBlades extend the artwork into that space, creating a much more finished look around the playfield.

They are pre-cut and designed for easy installation, so you can transform one of the most visible areas of the machine without changing anything permanently.

Iron Man WizPanels

The speaker panel is another area where a little artwork can make a surprisingly big difference.

Our Iron Man WizPanels is a custom decal designed from scratch for the machine, bringing the Iron Man theme into an area that can otherwise look quite plain.

It is one of those upgrades that works particularly well alongside the WizBlades because the artwork doesn't feel like an isolated addition. Instead, it helps connect the upper cabinet with the rest of the machine.

And if you're putting together a complete Iron Man setup, having artwork continue across several different areas makes the whole cabinet feel much more cohesive.

Iron Man WizAprons

The apron sits directly in your field of view throughout every game, making it another natural place to add some custom artwork.

Our Iron Man WizAprons continues the same visual approach as the other mods, adding another layer of detail without interfering with the gameplay.

It is a relatively small change, but when combined with the WizBlades and WizPanel, it helps turn the machine into a much more complete visual package.

And then there are the smaller details.

WizBats put custom artwork right in the centre of the action, directly on the flippers. On a machine as fast and aggressive as Iron Man, those flippers are constantly in view, so it's a surprisingly effective little upgrade.
